History Group

We have over 325 years of rich history that we are seeking to preserve and bring alive for today's and future generations.

We have an excellent documented precise in Mary Danahs's marvellous history book and we aim to build on this. We wish to build on this via Research and Education

RESEARCH

​

• We have a wealth of important ledgers and historic documnets that need examining and classifying.

• Which document need copying and made available to the public, online and locally.

• Review their safe storage

• Liaise with the County Records Office

• Document life in the Almshouse during COVID

 

EDUCATION

​

• Promote the roll of the Almshouse through history.

• Produce engaging activities and records during our open days to help inform the local community of our role.

• Develop YouTube video content

• Produce new Historical Content For our WEB site

• To engage and educate locals schools and young persons activities groups (Scouts / Guides).
